OUR PHILOSOPHY:
The Swope Middle School staff, parents, and community resources provide a positive learning environment through varied programs to meet the unique needs of pre and early adolescents. We build on skills previously acquired, guide students to be self-directed, responsible, and educationally competent individuals, so they are prepared for high school and future endeavors.

 

OUR MISSION:

The mission of Darrel C. Swope Middle School is to prepare our students for success in high school and to build the opportunity for all students to be college or career ready upon graduation, resulting in a community of informed and educated citizens. A function of our mission is a commitment to continuous improvement and to developing organizational structures and processes that will ensure academic excellence, be responsive to the unique developmental needs of our students, and be socially equitable. Each student will be provided a safe and nurturing community of learners where diversity is celebrated, mutual respect among adults and children is evident, and families are seen as valued partners in laying the foundation of life-long learning.
