My Journey as a Middle School Social Studies Teacher

PictureI was born and raised in Corona, California. I moved to Reno nine years ago to attend the University of Nevada, Reno where I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and an American History minor. One semester after graduating I was longing to return to my university.  I applied and was accepted into their Master of Education program, concentrating in Secondary Social Studies. I began teaching middle school social studies in August of 2012. This is my first year at Swope Middle School and enjoy working here. I love teaching Swope students about American history. When I am not at school working, I love learning about America's history, which includes traveling to historical sites across the United States. Someday, I would liek to say that I have been to all fifty states, even though I have a long way to go! You can check my progress on my cork board map in our classroom!
